As you are aware, there has been much consideration of how the choir sections might undertake the Chairman’s Challenge.

Based on the information received so far, the overall draft plan for the Anniversary Season September 2018 to June 2019 – including the Chairman’s Challenge – is currently as follows (Events in bold type have agreed dates) : –
 

October 18th 2018 – Citizenship Ceremony
November / April – Coffee Morning organised by Sopranos – date to be confirmed.
December 8th – BCS Concert
December 15/16th – D & C Murray Concert – date to be confirmed.
February 9th 2019 – Singing Day led by Aidan Oliver
Feb / March – Social Singing Evening to be organised by Tenors –  an evening of popular songs in a pub with word sheets provided and guitar accompaniment – to be confirmed
March 30th – BCS Anniversary Concert
May  – Coastal walk followed by Fish & Chips in Whitburn Parish Hall organised by Basses – date to be confirmed
June 22nd – BCS Concert
July – Tanfield Railway trip organised by Altos – date to be confirmed

Rehearsals in preparation for our Summer concert will begin on Wednesday April 11th 2018 in Sunderland Minster at 7.30 p.m.

Please try to be there early enough to have received your new score in time to start promptly. Also money for score hire should be correct as no change is available and in an envelope marked with your name.

Just a reminder that the Society has committed to contributing to the Citizenship Ceremony to take place in Sunderland Civic Suite on Thursday 23rd November 2017. Details to follow nearer the time. Members of the choir who have been involved before have found it a very worthwhile experience so perhaps you would like to join in if possible.

The Agenda for this year’s AGM, to be held on Wednesday 6th September 2017 at 7.30 p.m. in Sunderland Minster, is also included at the start of the minutes. As you will see from the Agenda, it has been agreed that verbal reports will only be heard at the meeting from the Chairman, the Treasurer, and the Musical Director. Links to the other usual reports will be published here as soon as they are available so that members can check their contents and raise questions at the AGM if applicable.

It is also intended that this will be the first session of the new season and the distribution of scores for a next work will take place on that evening, followed by a short rehearsal session. Money for score hire should be correct, as no change will be available, and in an envelope marked with your name.

As our rehearsal on Wednesday 1st March 2017 falls on Ash Wednesday, the rehearsal will take place at Ewesley Road Methodist Church, Chester Road, Sunderland. We look forward to seeing you there, even if you are delayed by other commitments.
